Create random parties of six characters for your games of Into the Odd or similar/derived systems.

Many (most?) will make little to no sense, find the ones that spark you and run with them.

Some guidelines for use...

Ability:

  • decide what it does
  • does it look like a spell
    • if so, test WIL when you do it
  • does it look like a skill
    • if so, roll with advantage when you use it
  • if you think your character should have additional abilities, sure, list them

Item:

  • decide what it does
  • if it’s really powerful, give it a limited # of uses and a recharge condition
  • if it’s a weapon, give it an appropriate damage rating (d6 average)
  • if it seems like a bunch of things, like grenades or something, give it an appropriate number (say, 3)
  • if it seems like armor or a shield or something you’d wear, give it a an armor rating (+1 standard)
  • if it’s big, tag it as “bulky” and have it take up two inventory slots
  • if you think your character should have additional items, sure, list them

Quirk:

  • decide what it means (or discover through play)
  • be honest: does it give you advantage or disadvantage on a roll? etc
  • if you think your character should have additional quirks, sure, list them
